The first and the biggest feature update for Windows 10 is the Anniversary Update. It is out for today. Windows 10 was offered as a free upgrade to customers running Windows 7 and above for its first year. Now Microsoft has introduced new features through software updates, the first of which is them anniversary update. Let us go through these features one by one:
Features Microsoft has Added in Windows 10 Anniversary Update:
Windows Ink:
With this Anniversary Update, it includes a hub for apps that support ink including Sketchpad, Sticky Notes and a Screen Sketch and a Snapchat-style app that lets you stretch on a screenshot. This new apps works with Maps, Office and Microsoft Edge. Cortana can easily understand things that user hand write on a sticky note and add them to your Calendar for the user. As for example, if you write “Call Mum tomorrow”. This app will highlight the word “tomorrow” that can tap and add to your calendar.
Dark Theme:
The update comes with the option to use the PC in a dark mode that features a black background with white text. You will now soon be able to pick a much more eye-friendly dark theme for default Windows apps like Settings menu, calculator app and the map app.
Extended Edge:
In order tom get more using its new web browser, Microsoft is also opening support for extensions and improving the tabs. Add-ons already available include LastPass, EverNote and Microsoft is reportedly working on a tool that can convert Chrome extensions to Edge ones. The update also means Edge syncs with the cloud, it works with Cortana with Hello.
No more passwords:
Microsoft is expanding Windows Hello. It is a biometric login that allows you sign into your computer with a selfie or fingerprint scan in order to include supporting websites on the Edge browser and some effective and helpful apps. It means that no more typing out endless passwords are required when you want to check your social media accounts and bank balance while doinf some online shopping and doing other stuffs.
